What SSL Services Do You Offer?
Solution
We offer two options for secure (https) connections:
You can use our (shared) SSL certificate. Your site will then be available securely via:
for Socrates hosted clients:
https://secure.thinkhost.com/yourdomain.com/
for Athena hosted clients:
https://secure.athena.thinkhost.com/yourdomain.com/
for Plato hosted clients:
https://secure.thinkhost.net/yourdomain.com/
for Zeno hosted clients:
https://secure.zeno.thinkhost.com/yourdomain.com/
The shared SSL certificate costs $5 to setup, and $5 per month. In order to enable shared SSL for your domain, simply do the following:
Log into your
account interface
.
Click "Websites" on the top menu.
Scroll down to the domain you want to switch shared SSL for.
If the shared SSL icon shows "Off", click it to turn shared SSL on.
You can use your own SSL certificate. Your site will then be available in the format
https://www.yourdomain.com/
You can purchase your own SSL certificate from us -
further details are here
- or from any provider of your choice.
You will also need a dedicated IP. A Dedicated IP and SSL support is provided free of charge on The Plan, The Plan 2, Business Classics or higher plans in conjunction with a clients' own SSL certificate. For clients on Smart Essentials or lower, SSL support costs a $10/setup, and $10/month, plus dedicated IP address for your own SSL certificate costs $10/setup and $10/month.
I have an SSL certificate with my current host. Can I use it with yout?
Most probably yes. Please attach the certificate key file (.key) and the actual certificate file (.crt) to a support ticket and let us know the exact domain name they were issued for and we will be glad to try installing them for your domain.
Please note that we need the .key to be in decrypted format. If you send it to us encrypted, please tell us what the passphrase it. You may alternatively decrypt an encrypted key with the following command, which can be ran on the server via a SSH connection:
openssl rsa -in ENCRYPTED.key -out decrypted.key
Where "ENCRYPTED.key" is the name of the encrypted key file, and decrypted.key is the name of the decrypted file that will be generated.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
