If you have an existing domain name you wish to use in conjunction with your hosting account, your domain name registrar needs to be told that we are your new web host.
To do this, you need to visit your registrar's web site and update your domain name DNS server, aka nameserver, settings. Most registrars have web-based interfaces which let you make these changes. Because the procedures vary greatly, you will need to contact the individual registrar to find out how to make the changes.
These are the details you'll need to use for your domain's nameserver (DNS) settings:
Primary DNS Server is: ns1.hostingoperations.com
Secondary DNS Server is: ns2.hostingoperations.com
Please note that once you make the changes, it can take up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect. Usually it's much quicker than that, but as the process is beyond our control, we state that timeframe as the maximum. It all depends on how regularly various ISP's around the world update their DNS information caches.
Note: 3rd party DNS services
Third party DNS services are not the same as registrars. They are somewhat of a "middleman" between the registrar and the hosting service which allow domain name owners to have greater control over some of their domain settings. If you don't utilize a 3rd party DNS service, then you don't need to read any further.
We do not support 3rd party DNS services by default. If you are wanting to use a 3rd party DNS service, please do not "guess" our mail IP settings as these often change, as do other aspects of our email infrastructure as a part of ongoing refinement. Always use our default name server setup; i.e. ns1.hostingoperations.com and ns2.hostingoperations.com. If you do require custom DNS records, please view
